Do you offer take out?

All of our resources are allocated to our in-house business thus we do not offer any take-out options.

Do we need a reservation to dine with you?

Yes, reservations are highly recommended.  We book 100% of our room.  We do not have bar seating, and the bar seating available in our sister restaurant Top Notch Burgers fills up very quickly and is not reservable.

Do you keep a wait list?

We keep a limited wait list but due to the nature of our restaurant wait list reservations cannot be guaranteed.

Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?

Yes, we do have some wheelchair accessible tables.  If you require a wheelchair accessible table, please let us know when you make a reservation.

Do you offer a corkage option?

Yes, we offer wine corkage for $25 per bottle and $45 per champagne bottle.

Is there a dress code?

We do not have a dress code; come however you feel comfortable. Shoes and shirt are required for service.

Can I do payments or special arrangements over the phone?

All credit card transactions are done via a secure PCI compliant pin pad. We can accept credit cards over the phone or via email with the general manager. Regular staff members are not permitted to process credit cards manually. We can also arrange for e-transfers for certain things.

Do you have vegetarian and vegan options?

We do have several vegetarian options available, but as we are a steak and seafood restaurant we do not have many vegan options. We will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions within reason.

Do you have gluten free options?

Most of our entrees are gluten free, and many of our appetizers and pastas can be adjusted to be gluten-free. We take every precaution to prepare allergy dishes in the safest manner possible, but we cannot 100% guarantee it due to cross-contamination. Tables with allergy modifications will have a longer wait for food as we have to take many extra steps to ensure your safety.

How can I get a gift card?  

Gift cards can be purchased in person any day from 7:30am - 11pm.  Gift cards can also be ordered through our email via e-transfer or credit card to be mailed to you via Canada Post.  They are physical cards and cannot be printed.

Are service animals allowed? 

Service animals are permitted when accompanied by official government issued certifications.

Do you have a patio?

No, we do not have any outdoor dining available. There are pictures online of our previous location that had a rooftop patio, as well as a patio in our current location that we operated only while indoor dining was restricted. We have no control over the photos posted on google so we cannot take them down. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Do you allow kids?

We do allow kids, but we ask you to be mindful of other tables and waitstaff around you. We have a limited children’s menu available. Guests that allow their children to run around the restaurant will be asked to leave.

Can I bring in my own cake?

You may bring in your own celebratory cake so long as it is prepared from an approved VIHA establishment. Home-made cakes are not allowed due to the risk of food safety hazards. We charge a $15 cake fee.

Can I bring in my own wine?

You may bring in your own wine or champagne. We charge a corkage of $25 per bottle of wine, and $35 per bottle of champagne. Non-alcoholic wine is a corkage fee of $15.

Can I leave a reservation on your answering machine?

We cannot honour reservations left on our answering machine without confirmation. We try our best to check voicemails every day, but sometimes it may take two business days for us to return your call. We recommend booking reservations several days in advance, or using our website form to make one online.

Why don’t you accept reservations over 6 people?

At The View Oceanside Grill, we take pride in being a scratch kitchen where every dish, side, sauce, and more are prepared to order. Our commitment to quality and excellent service is why large groups may inhibit our ability to effectively serve the rest of our guests. By adhering to our policy of not accommodating large groups, we ensure that every individual in our restaurant receives the attention they deserve. It's important to note that we are unable to book several smaller tables close to each other to accommodate large groups, and we have no exceptions to this policy. However, for those interested in hosting private functions, we gladly accept group bookings using our catering company. Please make sure to book these events at least 3 weeks in advance to ensure everything is perfectly arranged for an unforgettable experience.
